4 Chilling Facts about Atrazine (The Pesticide That Could Make Men Sterile!)

Are you having trouble conceiving a child? It could be due to hidden atrazine exposure, a pesticide that’s just as bad (if not worse) than Monsanto’s flagship herbicide, Roundup!

I wouldn’t have personally believed the horrible damage this particular pesticide could do until I started really digging into the data.

Now I feel compelled to share with you a few facts about atrazine, an herbicide in widespread use in America and Australia (but one that isn’t talked about nearly enough).

Here are 4 chilling facts about atrazine. (Men, this is of particular concern for you, especially if you’re trying to father a child!)

  1. Atrazine Affects Fertility in Large Populations

Infertility is a common problem that can create hardship and heartbreak in a marriage. Maybe you’ve changed your diet, quit smoking, and even gone to a fertility clinic, but you’re still unable to father a child.

Is there something wrong with you? Are you less of a man? Well…yes and no.

You’re certainly not less of a human being, but exposure to atrazine actually CAN reduce your sperm count and has even been shown to cause complete male-to-female sex changes in frogs!

So, technically, the qualities that society associates with men can be drastically reduced with exposure to this pesticide.

For example, in a study on semen quality in patients coming from four different cities in the US, researchers found that males from Columbia, MO had poorer sperm quality than men from New York, Los Angeles, and other major cities.

When they started to run tests to figure out why, they realized these men had pesticide metabolites in their blood, namely atrazine, alachlor, and diazinon.

Pesticides are not only a problem for individuals living on or around factory farms, either. Atrazine can have a damaging effect on fertility in an entire city, especially if, in addition to inhalation and skin exposure, you’re actually eating foods that have been soaked in this treacherous chemical.

  1. Atrazine Causes Chemical Castration

Studies have found that atrazine is an endocrine disruptor, which means it profoundly affects your hormones and the way your body works.

Animals exposed to atrazine showed reduced sperm motility and sperm number, and, even more alarming, their testes slowly degenerated over time.

Furthermore, atrazine causes structural disorganization in the testes, which have caused male frogs to look and act like females, which is scientifically referred to as “chemical castration”.

Scary, right? Everything may look normal on the outside, but on the inside, you’re slowly being rendered infertile!

  1. Atrazine Can Also Lead to Breast Tumors

We all have a hormone signaling axis to control hormonal concentration, and atrazine completely disrupts this process by inhibiting the release of hormones critical to sexual maturation during puberty and fertility in adulthood.

This hormone disruption not only causes problems with male and female infertility, it can also lead to galactocele (also referred to as a “milk cyst”) and tumors in a woman’s breast and pituitary gland.

  1. Atrazine is Everywhere

The worst news is that atrazine contamination is a major concern in the United States. 80 million pounds of atrazine are used every year, only in the United States, and this chemical can be transported via rainfall for more than 600 miles from the soil it was applied on.

Improve Your Odds by Going Organic Today

There’s a good reason organic foods have become a modern trend: Because pesticides are more widespread than ever, and, every year, more and more data emerges to reveal the incredible damage these chemicals not only to our health, but to the health of generations to come (assuming we will still be able to conceive and bear these generations)!

If you’re having trouble conceiving a child, struggling with breast tumors, cancer, or any other chronic condition, start over right now. Today. Go organic. Buy locally-grown produce, eggs, beef, and poultry. Check the labels on every food you buy at the supermarket, and make sure each and every one is certified USDA organic.

The extra money it costs to buy organic food is nothing compared to enduring expensive and frustrating fertility treatments or facing the horrors of chemotherapy.

Reducing your exposure to atrazine, Roundup, and other insidious chemicals by going organic is an investment in not only your health, but in that health of the children you so urgently want to have.
